Finny turns your real household spending, bills, receipts, and goals into a 36-month forecast — so you can test homes, school fees, renovations, career breaks, and holidays before they hit your bank account.
Most finance apps tell you where the money went. Finny tells you where it's going — and whether your next decision keeps the household safe.
Test a mortgage change, a baby, a renovation, or a career break over 36 months. Finny shows your buffer, the tightest month, and the recommended action.
Snap a receipt, drop a PDF, or forward an email. Finny parses vendor, date, total, category, and currency — with confidence labels you can actually verify.
Two adults, school-age kids, a flatmate, in-laws — different views, different permissions. Shared budgets without arguments about who paid for the petrol.
Buying a home, paying school fees, taking a career break, or planning a renovation — these decisions hit your cashflow for years, not months. The What-If Studio runs your real data 36 months forward, so you see the worst month before you sign the paperwork.
Risky window: months 4–9. After that, all four paths converge above safe.
Receipts are how your forecast stays honest. Every captured transaction sharpens your spending picture, which sharpens every What-If you'll ever run.
The home cockpit, the What-If verdict, and the receipt capture flow — built mobile-first so the train, the supermarket queue, and the kitchen table all work.
“We saved eight months of misery. The What-If said our renovation timing was wrong, and we listened. The buffer never dropped.”
“First app that didn't make me feel judged for spending on the kids. It just shows what's possible, calmly.”
“I came for receipt scanning. I stayed for the 36-month forecast that ended a 6-month argument with my partner.”
No bank scraping, no selling, no clever fine print. We say what we do and we do what we say.
Your transactions, receipts, and forecasts are encrypted at rest and in transit. You hold the keys to your own household.
When you connect a bank, it's view-only. Finny can never move money — it can only read what's already happened.
Delete a receipt, archive a transaction, export everything as CSV or JSON. Finny doesn't hold anything you don't want it to.
Every forecast lists the categories, bills, and timeframes that fed it. You can see — and edit — what shaped the answer.
Every captured image lives in your archive. Tap a transaction, see the original. Delete it anytime — Finny keeps the parsed data, not the picture.
Finny is built and operated from Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Your data sits in NZ infrastructure by default.
Free covers the family forecast and receipt capture. Plus and Family unlock unlimited scenarios, more members, and priority capture.

Optionally. Open banking connections through Akahu are read-only — Finny can see transactions but cannot move money. You can also use Finny entirely manually with receipt capture and CSV imports, no bank connection required.
Forecast confidence depends on how much real data Finny has. With 12+ months of transactions, scenarios typically run at 80–90% confidence. Every forecast shows what data fed it, so you can see whether the answer is grounded or speculative.
Yes. Every What-If saves to your household, so any member can view, comment, or fork it. You can also share a scenario as a read-only link with someone outside the household — useful when you're talking to a financial planner or family.
NZD, AUD, USD, GBP, EUR, HKD, JPY, and SGD on Free. Family unlocks multi-currency households (e.g. UK property + NZ salary + HK mortgage). Conversion uses end-of-day rates with a live override for active scenarios.
No. Finny doesn't use shame language and doesn't rank households. The AI surfaces what's likely to happen given your data — and what would happen if you changed one thing. The decision is always yours.
Yes — CSV, JSON, or PDF. Your transactions, receipts (as images and parsed data), scenarios, and household settings all export in human-readable formats. We don't believe in data hostage situations.
